  1. yes. and most major holidays.. ( for example Jan, 1st everything is closed expect for what i have mentioned) The only shops open on sundays are along the ramblas ( the most tourist area of the city) and the Maremagnum Mall. Its at the end of the Ramblas and over the bridge. that opens daily. its a bit more expensive but it opens.. Here´s the link..

  2. nope.  but mondays can be iffy for monuments and museums, and the palau musica you have to check into right away, if you want to go.  When we went, it was closed for a private  concert: families only.

Check in a good guidebook.  or online.  go bcn.com will get you there.

My favorite guidebook, it was very accurate, is DK's eyewitness line.  We got the all Spain book, but there's one for just Barcelona.

I didn't see any shops close, but some take siesta.

  3. I was there in November a couple of years ago.  All the shops that I passed by were closed (in the Passeig de Gracia area).  Sagrada Familia was open, bars, restaurants, and museums were open, too.  Museums had short hours though, like 10 am - 2 pm.  You can still enjoy strolling Las Ramblas and other areas of the city, though!
