Do the television screens at the gas pumps creep you out?

Do we need to have the tv on even while we are pumping gas?

Well it is sad that some areas of society think this is necessary. I am sure they are just trying to brainwash us into what ever is playing on TV, adds or whatever. Most of the pumps in Indiana don't have them thankfully.

where i live, there are no tv screens at gas pumps. just the little screen that tells you what to do and how to use the credit card slot.

what creeps you out about them? Do you think someone is watching you pump it up?

Occasionally...especially when I see the tv shadows dancing if pumping the gas in the dark.

Just goes to show what our society has come to...all about entertaining, advertising, etc.

I miss the days where you could just pick up the nozzle, flip up the thingy, and pump. Now you have to select your payment type, whether or not you have a discount card, what type of fuel you want, if you want a receipt or not, if you want a car wash or not, and then you gotta swipe or pay first. So many things that are supposed to make our lives more convenient just make it more complicated. It takes more time to get the pump running than it takes to pump the gas.

It's like they are talking to me and it gets annoying after a while!

and it FREAKS ME OUT when it stops for like 4 seconds then it starts talking again!

No and no.  They don't creep me out.  If they're showing something interesting, I pay attention.  If not, I don't.  We certainly don't need them at the gas pump.  I canceled cable TV at home about a year ago because I don't watch enough to justify the cost.  There are a few TV shows I like.  I either watch them online or wait for the DVDs to come out.  No biggie.

They are a little strange.  But the gas stations right near me (which have the lowest prices BTW), don't have them.  So I don't see them that often.

The TV screens at the supermarket are rather nice.  It's nice to watch CNN while waiting in line.
