  1. No of course they don't,they are the worlds highest paid beneficiaries

  2. In addition to their official functions, they have no privacy and their "calendars" are booked years in advance.  That sounds like a job to me!

  3. as far as i know..the dont work at all dear!!

  4. The second answer is the best answer of them all, trust me I know all to well, coming from a long line of a historical royal family, also known as the Royal House of Italia, which is now ruled by the Duke of Savoy the Englsih aren't the only country with royals. My official title in my family is known as a Count, which is follwed by a Marguess

The royals definitely do work, not as hard as a factory worker in china, but they do work, even I work as a Chef in NYC

  5. The Queen's schedule is unbelievably busy, she is 80 something you know.  Princess Anne is said to be the busiest royal besides the Queen.  Prince Charles has many charities and business ventures.  The Duke of York is a roving Ambassador for Business in Britain and his schedule is crazy not to mention his charities. Prince Edward and his wife both work tirelessly for their charities.  So yes, they do work really hard.  They just have the benefit of having nicer clothes and jewelry than the rest of us.

  6. Well, look at it this way. They were born into the job, they had no choice in the matter. There is no retirement, there are no days off, sick leave is very limited.

They are limited in who they can marry, they have no privacy, they have to listen to interminable boring speeches, stand for hours in receiving lines and ceremonies, and eat whatever strange food is put in front of them.

Their schedules are booked years in advance, they are limited by protocol in their actions and words, they must contend with cameras pushed in their faces, and every tiny thing will be nit-picked throughout the media.

And the Queen has done it for over 50 years. Sounds like hard work to me.

  7. Working? Come on!

  8. I totally agree with Daniel's answer.  They don't work in the traditional sense of flipping burgers or digging ditches, but they DO carry out duties; that I am sure are trying at best.

    Good answer, Daniel.

  9. Although they don't work in the traditional sense, they do carry out a vast number of engagements.

The "hardest" working royal by far is the Princess Royal, she's patron of Save The Children UK and was often in Africa working with other volunteers.

The Queen despite being 81 still carried out a large number of engagements, often with the Duke of Edinburgh (who's 85). That's on top of her regular meeting with the Prime Minister and giving Royal Assent to Bills of Parliament, whilst it is more of a formality nowadays the queen is reported to have a full understanding of any bills she's gives assent to (technically she can refuse to give royal assent, but no monarch has done that since Queen Anne in the early 18th Century).

Anyone who says they don't work clearly doesn't know what they're talking about
