  1. The spouse recieves about 25,000 a year. The 1st lady to

recieve that monbey was Abe Lincoln's wife mary who got 1,500 a year, starting in 1870. most of them write books or are put on corporate boards or run for president that they are not hurting for money.

  2. There has to be some type of benefit that the spouse gets until she passes also.  Most though are wealthy enough that it wouldn't matter either way.

  3. Yes. They do..It depends on the amount they were paid and the capacity of their position ( eg. senators)

I have to find the articles.. will add link

Time they served etc. (Even the same s*x spouses can claim benefits now ( wonderful .. all should be treated equally)

Good for Nancy.. I believe she is entitled to every penny. Great Supporter of Ronald  Reagan ) Let her live her last years with some dignity.

    Here you Go.

Presidential widow is provided a $20,000 annual lifetime

pension and franking privileges. The widow must waive the right to any annuity or pension under any other legislation.

Nancy Reagan and Betty Ford are the surviving widows

    . According to GSA,

MRS REASON AND MRS FORD DID NOT WAIVE THE RIGHT TO ANY OTHER ANNUITY PROVIDED BY THE STATUE.

http://www.senate.gov/reference/resource... Reagan and Mrs. Ford do not receive the annual

pension, since they did not waive the right to any other annuity or pension provided by statute. ( THUS THEY RECEIVE OTHER ANNUITY AND PENSIONS PROVIDED BY THE STATUES. ( Nancy receives Protection of the Secret Service for Life / as she is under olden rules of Legislature ( read)

However the amount of what she receives was not specified

However, I'm sure she, gets a lot of perks and can live comfortably.
