  1. Pediatric therapist maybe?  I know that there are jobs for this type and there are many absused children in this country that get help from them.  It is a very important job :)

  2. Child psychologist or potentially school psychologist could work with this age group. Child psychologist would be found in private practice children and youth service, local mental health and hospital settings, pediatric units, pediatric mental health wards, etc.  School psychologist work in private practice and with children in a school setting.

  3. Yes. My daughter has 3 different theripists come to the house once a week. They come from A Step Ahead. You might google it. She has a speech theripist, developmental, and physical. And an audiologist comes once a month. Hope this helps.

  4. yes. but that is all i know. srry

  5. yes, definitely. oftentimes they can work in fostercare shelters with children, but that might be a little broader and help children ages infant to 13, or something.

they can also work with children who are victims of abuse -- all kinds. i imagine your job as their therapist would help them make sense of the situation from a child's perspective. a lot of kids, especially that age, get senses of guilt and think the situation is all their fault.

an extremely important job, but probably also very emotional. you can look into social work, which would involve going into people's homes and interviewing the child to see if they are, in fact, the product of abuse.

on the other hand... a lot of pscyhologists can work at schools, and rather than deal with the emotional aspect of things, you can look at their cognitive development. ages 3 to 6 are extremely important ages as far as the development of language and thought process. you might be testing children of all types to see if they have disorders such as dsylexia, or if they may have autism. you may spend a good chunk of your time just administering IQ tests, because this seems to be around the age where adults can finally start to tell if their children should be placed in special education classes for different needs.  then, you know, there can be speech therapists... physical therapists... all kinds! :)
