  1. Frankly, yes.

I have some personal experience with that.  My parents chose Natalie and Nicole for my and my sister (Who is almost two years older than me) two names easily mistaken even when NOT siblings.  They start and end with the same letter.  That was enough to warrant every damned teacher and half the kids at our school to confuse the two of us.  Frequently.  Which was incredibly annoying for me.  My mom used to call us NatCole because she just couldn't ever get it right.  It was most aggravating.  It's hard to be your own person when everyone's calling you by your siblings' names.  And Peyton and Paxton are a LOT closer than our names.

I'd say, save your child the identity issues later in life, the hassle, the anger and pick something that less resembles the name.

I know lots of people are telling you their cute together and such - and they do mean well.  But when you're older you don't want your names to be 'cute together' - you want to be yourself - you want to be an individual.  Not part of some matchy-pair.  It's honestly h**l.  It was one of the most aggravating things about my childhood.

I know from personal experience it sucks to be the 'rhymey' young sibling.  It just sucks.  End of story.  Take it from somebody who knows.  It is infinitely more irritating than you could ever know.

  2. No I really love Paxton and Peyton. In my opinion, names that would clash with Paxton would be like, Paxton and Ann or something like that because they are too different. I also like Peyton for a boy name too. It's one of those unisex names. Anyway, I love them. Good choice!

  3. ...WAY too cutesy for my taste.

Ella Peyton is much more attractive.

  4. I do not like the name Peyton for a girl, however, the names don't clash. It sounds nice. My mother used to practice yelling our names to come home, so try that! =] Best of luck!!!

  5. No b/c I have 2 boys and a girl

    Boys

    Dakota (Cody)

    Kasey (KAM)

    Girl

    Kaylee (KK)

    Good luck and congrats

  6. They are primo names, who cares what anyone else thinks about naming your baby, my baby's name is ketana raven paris, cool names mean cool kids lol

  7. yeh kinda!!! ella peyton sounds nicer. elly for short. best of luck with it all

  8. Peyton and Paxton go very well together in my opinion however I would never name my kids that. No offense. Just not my style but they're nice names. Go for it!

  9. I hate them.

    Cruz: Tom Cruze

  10. I don't really think they clash, but to be honest I'm not really a fan of the name Peyton.  Sorry, but it reminds me of goose liver patte.  I love the name Ella though- that's what we'll be calling our first daughter (we plan on naming her Eleanor and calling her Ella).

I don't know if these are your style at all, but a couple of P names that I like are:

    Phillippa/Pippa

    Piper

    Penelope

  11. They're nice names, but changes are you'll get confused when you want to call one or the other when they get older (it happens enough already with names that do not start with the same letter :)

Also, things can get a bit complicated when they get mail send to them that only has their first initial on it and without the middle one.

Last thing: I don't think your kids will be too happy about it when they get older as ppl will think they're twins.

I would try to find a different name than Peyton, but keep Ella, that's lovely!

    Congrats on your 2nd child!

  12. Just a little bit........ but if you call one by a nickname then it will sound great!

    Good Luck!

  13. I love the name Peyton for a girl and Paxton is cute too! I think they sound good together too! Very cute and congrats!

  14. mm there not bad. but people may get confused as to who the boy and girl name is

  15. No not at all, i think its rather cute actually.. Very sweet names!

  16. I think those two names are really cute for siblings. Go for it.

  17. aww. no it sounds cute together. congrats on your second. peace love and happiness to you and your family

  18. You'll probably regret it.  My mom named her kids megan michelle and micah.  She constantly got us mixed up.  I hear even when the names aren't close you switch them around and get confused.  Why make it harder on yourself, unless you are really sold on the name.

  19. They are too close, if people heard the two names together

"I have two kids, Peyton and Paxton"

    they will sound like twins.

But don't get me wrong, I think they are both great names, just not as brother and sister

  20. no i think it sounds great! and it also enphasises that they are syblings!

  21. I don't think they clash that badly. Just imagine saying the names  out loud, calling them over for lunch etc and see how it sounds. You could also call out the name Peyton and see if Paxton turns around. You should then know if the names are too similar or not :)

  22. no goes well together.

  23. I'm not a big fan of Peyton, but  it goes well with Paxton.

    Ella's cute.

  24. I like both of them, they are cute together, I can hear those names being called out together when they get in a little bit of mischief=)

  25. No I think they are fine. They sound like sibling names and go together. Good luck and congrats :)

  26. i don't think so. both are beautiful.

when you call one of them both might come running...

but thats not always a bad thing.

  27. I think theyre awsome names, whered you get them from?

They go really well together, congratulations =]

  28. I think they both sound nice together ... I dont think they clash..I like them both..good choice

  29. NOOO!  That's bad. REEEEEAAAALLLL bad.  Paxton Cruz is an adorable name, Peyton is NOT, especially for a girl.

When me and my bro were kids, (and we got yelled at by mum) if we were in the back yard we couldn't really hear her.  SO we didn't know which one of us was in trouble coz we only heard the "an" at the end of our names (I'm Megan, he's Adrian)

Can you imagine the kids in the school yard? And the poor teachers of the next generation. They are gonna have such a hard time remembering names. Why doesn't anyone stick with the classics anymore? Oh and if you have any greek kids, Ella (Ela) means "Come" in greek.

  30. No, they are both beautiful names!!

I know siblings with similar names. As long as they aren't twins or really, really close in age I don't think it matters. I can imagine two siblings at school being called Paxton and Peyton. =]

I like them, and although some people may think they clash I actually love them together. I know a lot of people who use they're middle names as their first names so if you're daughter ever doesn't like it, or you don't like it, she can always go by Ella instead.

Since they are boy and girl I don't think it matters at all, but ask close friends and family too, they can usually give you the best opinions. =]

Good luck and I hope everything works out!

  31. Yes, I think that the names sound too similar. They're really nice names individually, but overwhelming when together. The only difference in the first name is that -ax sound is changed to -ey. If you can think of a distinctive first name, perhaps you could use Peyton as a middle name.

Here are some suggestions of names you might like:

Ashton, Auden, Jensen, Addison, Ellery, Aubrey, Jordan, Rowan, Riley, Sydney, Morgan, Avery, Taylor, Kelsey, Arden, Larkin, Jillian, Ashlyn, Jaden, Adair, Emerson, Parker, Darcy, Erin, Hayden, Kennedy, Teagan, Mallory, Hollis, Marley, Reagan, Ryan, Cassidy, Meagan, Kristin, Ainsley, Makayla, Lyra, Greyson, Austin, Colten, Leighton, Camden, Rylan, Evelyn, Courtney, Harley, Reece, Ava, Brighton, Cooper, Evan, Madigan, Keaton, Piper, Campbell, Kendall, Eden, Aspen, Marlowe, Tamsin, Delaney, Tatum, Everly, Finley, Bellamy, Brinley, Harper, Ellison...

    I really like these combinations:

    Paxton Cruz & Bellamy Ava

    Paxton Cruz & Tamsin Ella

    Paxton Cruz & Avery Peyton
