Do these horrors take place?

Hi,

Often we come across horror movies in which we are shown a traveller stuck in a forest in the middle of nowhere. THe traveller soon finds the inhabitants of the villages in the forest a backward society untouched by progress. The traveller also soon find that the residents are gruesome killers who engage in sodomy, incest, animal abuse, sadism and masochism. One such move is the french Calvaire, or the Ordeal. Other American moves similarily show people living in the middle of nowhere engaging in sadism on unfortunate lost travellers that may come by. While a good idea for a horror film, I find it hard to believe that such people exist in the world, especially in countries as progressed as America and France. Is it true that there are people like these? Hiding in the forest? Killing? Is it true that there may be whole societies untouched by progress in developed/developing countries that have gone mad and engage religiously in such acts of macabre? The prospect is a scary one.

  1. To gain a true understanding of the French character, it is necessary to study the circumstances of the 'Drummond murders' in the 1950's.   (La France Profonde, - rural France - hasn't changed much since then.  If anything it has become more inbred).  The most curious part of the case was not just the gruesome murder of a British family camping with their small daughter, by the French peasants, - but the way in which the villagers conspired both to blame each other maliciously, while refusing to co-operate with the police. An old peasant farmer, Gaston Dominici, was eventually sent to the guillotine.  He confessed twice, but then retracted his confession.  Two of his sons accused him of the crime.  The daughter watched her parents murder, then tried to run away before being bludgeoned to death with Dominici family gun.  It is possible that the killer was one of the sons.

  2. In a movie it's fiction sometimes,but this is my real life;

    I'm living alone right now in a house which nobody wants to live in.

    I bought it because it's so comfortable,beautiful with a big garden.

    Four years ago,a family lived here with a son of 24.Since he was a teenage, every Sundays the father told the son to hit a rabbit and skin it for lunch.He had fear,but he had to do it otherwise the father would get mad and tell him that he's a coward.

    Growing older,he felt into drugs and one day he came home and hit his father's head with a thick wood,then the mother then sliced them into pieces!he went out with friends like as if nothing happens.

    The next day he came home and called the police.

    Jack the ripper was a true story,wasn't it?.....hmmm..

    I'm more scared of him than a ghost.

  3. why do you say untouched by progress? abt. 10 yrs ago a large satanic cult was brought down outside of victoria. the majority of the cult were urban professionals, drs. lawyers, even a provincial court judge. they would dress in ceremonial attire and practise rituals dating to nearly prehistoric time, but when the weekend retreat of sacrificial killing and ritual stopped, the suits and ties went back on into the mercedes they climbed and back into the city to live like normal folk........'til the next time.

  4. I'm sure that there are backwards places like that..... but not on the level that the movies show. I will give you an example of one that I know of.

    My uncle just moved to Murfreesboro Tennessee. The place he lives at is up in the mountains..... the people are nice, but if you are from a big city you might fight them strange. His neighbor was blocking the water supply to another neighbors house. Neighbor number two gets mad, walks into the guys house, kills him, chops him up and scatters his parts all over the yards. Gross but a true story. My father was in the same area and someone shot a rifle at him because he accidentally crossed onto the guys land. So judge for yourself. =D
