Ok i was at practice today, and my friend justin was running and dived for a pass and he broke his finger and my stomache is hurting since then and im like god d**n, and his mom came and she was crying alot and i felt bad and i dont want my mom to cry like that when i play and i dont want to have to look at my finger if it breaks like that because i threwup when I saw his..

Anyways...Besides that.

[Also it was his index/pointer finger. It was bent an the middle was pushed in instead of popping out, if you curl your finger, instead of the bone going north it goes south.]

But will this happen to me considering I play runningback?

And whats the worst injury you ever seen or had.

  1. the worst ive seen is hmmm..... spranged ankle, torn ligament, oulled hamstring, and piched nerve, but dont worry aout it keep your head up,shoulder pads low,ad your feet square and faceing foward! if someone trys to tackle u dont ram them with your head down you can get paralized

  2. There will be injuries in every single football season. There's no getting around it. Doing injury prevention (e.g. stretches/warm-ups/cool-downs) amd lifting a lot in the off-season will prevent a lot. However, there are always freak injuries. If you scared of injury, you increase your chance of getting hurt because you are not going all out. You MUST have the mindset that it's hit or be hit.

As for freak injuries I've seen...

1.) Calcification of the bicep muscle (laymen's terms his bicep began turning to bone) from a hard impact

2.) Broken Femur (left the left leg 2 inches longer than the right leg)

3.) Broken Collarbones (very painful, happens every other year or so to somebody who fails to use proper technique)

4.) Auras (not really an injury, but a result of a concussion where vision blots and migraines occur regularly)

5.) Dislocated knee-caps (now that's disgusting to see)

    6.) ACL/MCL tears

7.) Rotator cuff breaks (that's usually a career ender...)

Those are just to name a few. Yes, football is a violent sport, but if you are nervous about it don't play, because you only put yourself at risk for injury. Otherwise, don't think about, just play.

  3. my friend is a RB and he broke a rib an tore his ACL. But if your to squimish for a broken finger you might as well bring a paper bag to every football game with you. But to answer your question they do happen often.

  4. i broke my finger jumping on the trampoling doing flips. my pinky bone cracked off and the whole finger was just sort of lolling around. it stuck straight down the side of my hand. like how they face forward, my pinky was turned back like it was pointing at me. very gross.

but what i'm saying is that these types of injuries happen anywhere, to anyone, at anytime. i don't think they're really unavoidable. so if you like it, just go for it. football is a lot of fun i hear and the guys in my class love it. so if you love it too just play it and be safe (:
