Question:

Do these monuments exist in Paris?

I'm researching the boulevards of Paris and found a book, but the book was in French (and I cannot understand French).

But there were these lovely statue monument drawings in the book, and I'm wondering if the statues actually exist. The book has a map of the streets 'Rue de la Paix' and 'Avenue de l'Opera' so they'd be in that area.

There's 3 and they all have plaza areas within the street. Tall column like with figures on top. Called Napoleon, Hugo and Pasteur by the book.

  1. YES... those monuments exist and I've seen them, but I can't say exactly what streets they are located on.  It seems like Victor Hugo on on the South side of the Old Opera Building, right where the street comes together.

  2. Yes, these statues exist. The columns having the statues of Victor Hugo and Louis Pasteur on the top are on Rue de la Paix and the tall column with Napoleon's statue is in Place Vendome.

  3. Do you see this column :

    http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonne_Ven...

    It's Place Vendome.

This place is close to Rue de la Paix and Avenue de l'Opera.

But there is only one column in the center of this place (the place where was Lady Diana'hotel just before her death).

This very tall column is called Napoleon's column. You can see a Napoleon statute at his top.

I didn't find 3 columns in this area ? No column with the name of Hugo (Victor Hugo was our most famous poetry) and Pasteur (our most famous doctor who found the peniciline vaccin).
