Question:

Do these movements mean baby will engage her head soon?

I'm 35 weeks pregnant and so far the baby's head is 'free'.

The last 2 days I'm getting a lot more movements 'down below', as though my baby is headbutting or punching near my bladder.

Previously movements were up in my ribs and under my rib cage. I still get kicked in my ribs, but a lot more so down below as well.

Does this mean she might engage her head soon?

  1. She might already be there! But it's no indication that birth will soon follow...it can still take 5 or more weeks for you to go into labour...my baby was engaged from week 30 and went over!

  2. I am 35 weeks in a couple of days and I have had the bladder thing for a while now, I either can't breath and eat, or I have to go to the loo all the time. Your baby is head down, which can be half the battle, but there is no way to know if it will engage sooner or later. If this is your first baby you will find that the baby will be engaged sooner than me who is on their third (mine will engage probably during labour). What will be will be!!

  3. Sounds like she is getting ready, yes!

  4. maybe.the only one who knows is your baby.

  5. the only advice i can share is to expect the unexpected - anything could happen and at any time - engaged, not engaged, doesn't seem to make much difference and the doctors don't seem to be able to predict.  the only thing you can be sure of is you get a wonderful little bundle at the end of it the fun really begins, its the best thing ever  good luck!
