Do you need 2 phone sockets for these pair of phones?

My phone socket is upstairs and I want to have a phone downstairs but no socket downstairs, so does the main corded phone of this combo only need the socket and the other one just the mains?

looks like one. The big one plugs in and acts as a wireless base for the other one.
