  1. Making sure you have decent grade in English at A-Level is essential, but after that other subjects don't really matter. The key thing is to gain experience in schools. Increasingly, places on teacher training courses go to people with lots of current school experience, such as having worked as a TA.

  2. Its not so much the choice that's important but your grades. English is obviously a good choice as is Ethics. Where as art will show unis that your well rounded and creative. I think you should be fine with those choices good luck with the future.

  3. All you really need is a good grade in English. However, how well you need to do in your other subject depends on the university you want to go to. Go to www.ucas.com and do a course search to look at what different universities to ask for. It's a good idea to look at universities now as you'll be starting the very beginnings of the application process this time next year.

  4. My advice to you is not to limit your choices to what you believe an english degree specifies.

You should try and keep your options open at this stage and take a science A level and possibly mathematics. If you research many courses such as English, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology and media etc, you will learn that these courses are often saturated. Therefore a degree in these type of subjects are some what worthless as there may be no job to go to after.

I personally took Law, English Lit, English Language and History. After studying these at A Level i realised too late that i had chosen the wrong subjects. I myself started a degree in English, however i'm now returning to college to take biology and chemistry A levels.

I really would advise taking at least one science subjects and possibly maths as well, this way if you change your mind you will not be in the same predicament as what i was in.

    Good luck..

  5. Don't know how physiology fits in.

Take Psychology; sociology; political science, American history...it will help you with understanding your students & groups of people.

Marks depend on where you want to go...also do some volunteer work or internships working with kids.

    Ask college adviser about grades.

    Best of luck
