dude I hear mixed things on this also, I myself am getting

F F F F U U U U U U C C C K K K E E E D D D up before I ship, my only worry is drinking too much and going to meps plastered so I'll either start early in the day or the day before, if I were you I'd get trashed 2 days before then spend the day before packing and kicking back a couple with the homies just relaxing

I don't recall taking an alcohol test before shipping out.

I can't imagine doing the dufflebag shuffle while hung over, though.

yeah, but unless you drink a ton the night before it will all be out of your system.

You have to wait too much at MEPs to pop for that usually

If the Drill thinks you are drunk s/he can have you breathalized.  And then you could be reported as drunk on duty, disobeying orders...it's a horrible wake-up call.

As long as you are a trainee you are scrutinized 24/7.  So, listen to the Drills, do your best, aim high, be strong and thanks for volunteering.
