  1. Is it POSSIBLE?  Maybe.  But no, we don't get them.

I've lived in the Los Angeles area for almost 20 years and we've never had a hurricane here in all that time.

  2. No.  But in the '30's a downgraded hurricane pushed into So Cal with winds around 50 mph and heavy rain.  Because of the currents bringing cold water down the west coast hurricanes cannot survive much further north than the tip of Baha California.  And hurricanes that travel inland to So Cal are quickly weakened by the land.

  3. no the waters are to cold to get any hurricanes

  4. No it will probably never happen. Hurricanes in the pacific form off the coast of mexico and rarely move northward. If one happened to the water would be to cold near LA and I dought that it would stay a hurricane.

  5. No, because the waters in the Pacific at that latitude aren't warm enough to support hurricane development.

  6. No, the formations of hurricanes are in west Africa and the west Pacific.

Unless there was some extreme winds that pushed a typhoon (otherwise known as a hurricane here in US), there is never a hurricane in LA

    Just worry about earthquakes =(

  7. No.  Hurricanes travel somewhere between west and northwest.  They'd have to cross Mexico and/or the US to get here.

  8. No, they don't get hurricanes there.

  9. When hurricanes happen in the atlantic and pass over mexico to the north west.......the break appart on land and create strong winds through L.A..........I live in the Bay Area and we once felt those strong winds from a hurricane a few years back....... But no. No "hurricanes"
