they hand check it and stick it through the xray things.. so make sure you bring ONLY what ur suppose too.. if you don't they will confiscate that item..

They do both, but not every piece of luggage is hand checked.  It is hand checked only if they think there is a need (if they see something suspicious with the xray), or if it is chosen for one of the random checks.
