Do they have to eat it or is it just when they touch it?

The lead in the pain in toys and now Easter eggs. Is it harmful if they touch it or only if they acutally eat or chew on the toy?

The danger is ingestion. But, for example, people stopped using lead-based paint in their houses because little children would pick at it and eat the flakes.

Just touching lead should not be harmful.

they have to chew on it or eat it. it is not harmful if they touch it. They have to actually ingest it before it becomes harmful.

Touching it shouldn't be a problem.   The primary modes of ingestion are eating lead and breathing in lead dust.

Lead is bad for the body, period. It depends on the amount you breathe in, eat, etc. however. I really don't trust anything with lead in it period.

touch him good  or eat anything he is very skinny and i jut dont know  touch like  hairballs , can you get him some hairballs , remedy at your lokal eat more? if not contact me vet,

OK  as  far  as  i know  its  harm full  both  ways  , if  they  eat  or  chew  on  its   absorbed and its   taking  into  system  direct   ..if  they  touch  it and   residue  gets  on  fingers  and  if  fingers  are  licked  or  go  into  mouth  its  also  absorbed  or   taken  into  system ... many  people  who  restore  old  furniture etc.   treated  by  lead  bearing  paint  etc  can  get  lead  poising  just  by  sanding  the  surface   and  inhaling  it  .  ..or  from  drinking  water   from  old  lead  pipes  used  in  plumbing   that's  all  I know   not  sure  of  the  health  issues
