there is this new store in my area thats opening up in september, i went to an interview with the manager of the store and it went well, i answered all the questions and sounded confident.. she did say quite a few times that she will notify the people that got hierd what the uniform requirments are and stuff like that... she also said that she will let me know if i got the job on friday or monday.. i really want to get hierd BUT im worried that because its new and all there might have been alot of applicants thus making the hiring process alot harder and competitive.. do you think that the hiring process is going to be competitive and that my chances of getting hierd are slim since the fact that my interview was on the last day she was interviewing?

and my final question is do they hier alot of people when opening a new store?

  1. Yes they always hire a lot of people when a store opens or there would be no one to run it... the only exception is really small businesses like family owned. There may be lots of applicants but there should be a lot more positions to fill than at already established stores with current employees.

  2. The store will have to fill all positions so yes, there will be quite a few hires.  And yes, the hiring will be competitive because the job market is really bad right now.  Interviewing on the last day could be in your favor since the manager may remember you more clearly than she remembers specific people who interviewed early on.

    Good luck.
