Do they intend to make the Dark Tower movie as a series or a single film (as was done for Hearts in Atlantis)?

There are no plans to make a movie/mini series of The Dark Tower books.

It would be great IF they could do it without leaving out too many details.

No, but they are making a movie of "The Talisman" which should have some elements of the DT series.  But, yes that would be cool if they could make those.  It would be cool to see all of the characters I love on screen, especially Jake and Suzanna, my fave characters.
