Do they know what channel I am listening to? ?

I have a new satellite radio system. I hear some shows saying they are the most listening to station on the system. So can the satellite radio company tell what stations you are listening to?

No...they don't know what channel YOU are listening to unless you get a survey from a ratings company.  Don't forget, its a one way system (i.e., you only receive signals and don't transmit anything).  The ratings companies take a survey of listeners who fit certain demographics and then mathematically calculate which channels are most listened.

Maybe they know by random telephone polls or something like that.

It might be one of them things where they say they are the most popular show because there is no way to prove they are not.
