and if you've had this done, did you feel the pressure and pain of it all getting done??

i had an epidural with my first and really it didn't hurt, i felt alot of pressure like a backache, but i also had 3 major contractions during the whole process. i am going to be very anticipated, because i will be completely coherent and know what is going on......

  1. yes they numb you first and i only felt a little pressure during the c-section.works a lot better than the epidural does .

  2. I didn't feel jack during the spinal.  It was just uncomfortable having to bend down while they did it (not painful though).

They lay u down pretty quickly since u are about to go numb.

  3. Yes, they give you a little shot of I believe Lidocaine?  I may be wrong on the name but they do numb the area first.  In fact, the numbing shot (which felt like a small pinch) hurt worse than the spinal!  I was so scared of getting the spinal but it did not hurt at all.  It felt strange, but no pain.  Good luck!
