Do they make Infer red photo resistors?

i know they make photoresisters that work with normal light but do they make photo resistors that work with infer red light????

  2. cds photo resistors are basically limited to the 400 to 700 nm wavelenght.  The 880 to 940 nm wavelenghts of Infrared are outside the operational envelope.   You might try some experimentation to see if a cds has any sensitivity to IR by filtering out visible light. I suspect that you will find a minimal response  

    Did you know that an LED can be used as not only a light source but as a detector as well?  You can use an IR LED to detect IR. (see link)

    Of course you can use an IR diode or an IR transistor both of which are available from www.digikey.com
