I was wondering if they make a VGA to DVI adapter. I'm thinking about getting a new graphics card but it has DVI on it, and I have a normal VGA monitor.

I saw http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812267001 but the title confuses me. would this work?

I Need to attach the VGA part to my monitor cable that has VGA pins, and need the DVI to have pins to go into the dvi part on my video card

  1. Yea its DVI to VGA that works I would get the card first. Most of the time they come included with the card as well. When you get a monitor that supports DVI buy the cable though it makes a huge difference

  2. That's the correct adapter, the DVI connector on a video card is "female". Make sure your next video card has a "DVI-I" interface, which puts out both analog and digital video signals through that connector.

  3. Im sorry, but did you mean DVI to VGA adapter? Cause most video cards come with a DVI-VGA adapter. Mine did.

These adapters are to plug to the back of the video card, once you do that, you can use your old VGA cord to connect the video card to the monitor
