  1. Yes there is a s-video to regular composite video adapter:

I have used them and they do work.

  2. You don't have a S-video input on the PC is is a Output only.

I would recomend gettting a video capture card for the PC, You would only need the regular AV patch set then.

  3. In short, no. To give more detail, an RCS triple component video cable carries both audio and video. The red and white cables are for audio (Red, right; white, left), and ONLY the yellow cable carries the video signal.

Then, to get a better quality of video from an S cable, it needs to connect to the S cable ins and out at BOTH ends. If you only have an RCA connector at one end, it is 100% pointless to have an S connector at the other end. It won't be any better than using a cable thats RCA connectors at both ends for the video signal.

When you hood up something that uses an S cable, you still need the pair of audio connections to be plugged in as well.

  4. Ok, what you want to do is definitely possible, but we might have to get creative here.

First, there is definitely a S-Video to Composite converter out there, however that will only get you the video, not the sound to your movie.

Second, have you ever used the s-video cable on your computer to import video before? Most computers have an S-Video out port to view the computer screen on a TV, so this is probably not to get video in, since it is also lacking an way for audio to get in.

Don't loose hope yet though. What you need is a simple device that would hook into one of your USB ports and convert the signal to one your computer can understand. The links below show you the best place to buy one, and the second one is probably your best bet. These will also include software to import and file your video.

Well, I hope this helps, and enjoy your movie.
