  1. Yes. I cycle to work a lot in the rain and the most important thing is to get rain gear that's made especially for cycling. You'll probably need to go to a bicycle shop or outdoors store to find it, but it's worth it.

    For a jacket, the arms will be longer than a regular rain coat because you cycle with your arms stretched out in front of you. It should have a longer "tail" in the back so when you bend over your back is still covered. Armpit zippers are nice because you can open them to cool off.

    For pants, special cycling rain pants have legs that are slightly bent at the knees to make it easier to pedal.

    Gortex or some other similar breathable material will keep you comfortable.

    Note that a good rain suit is expensive, but worth it if you cycle in the rain a lot. If you just cycle occasionally, a regular rain coat and pants will be fine for short trips.

    Get a helmet cover and shoe covers and you're ready to go.
