No. They made that ''thong'' idea to keep to hold the pants of the thai boxers during the thai war about 2000 years ago. I mean if u were in a war u dont want ur pants to fall. Since then every thai boxer in thailand was force to wear it to not only hold their pants up but because its tradition.
