Question:

Do they make pedals that are clip but convert to normal, like with tennis shoes? If so where can i find them.?

With gas prices shooting thru the roof i want to ride my bike everywhere but dont wanna change the pedals if i bike to a friends or the park. Just wondering if such a thing was out there? Thanks in advance.

There are several options.  First, as the others mentioned, there are sandals or shoes that will accept a cleat.  Most of these are Shimano SPD style (small cleat that is somewhat recessed).  Additionally, a couple of companies make toe strap clip in units that snap into place in an SPD pedal so you can use normal shoes.  Either way, SPD format is probably your best bet.  The pedals are cheap (about $50 for an entry level Shimano pair or perhaps even less for a Chinese copy).  Performancebike.com and Nashbar.com are good sources.  Happy trails.

  3. there are low end bike shoes which use spd system which you can use as shoes and you can walk easily
