  1. South Africa has another popular red tea called Honeybush.  It is from the plant Cyclopia intermedia.  The red tea is brewed using the dried flowers, stems, and leaves.  It is similar to Rooibos in flavor, but a little sweeter.  Honeybush is loaded with good minerals and is caffeine free.

  2. Red tea, also known as Rooibos tea, is made from a different plant than other teas. The plant is called "Asphalatus linearis", whereas the tea plant is called "Camellia sinesis".

Rooibos tea comes from South Africa, but other teas come mainly from Asian countries.

Strangely, some Asian countries call ordinary black tea "red tea".
