Do they make routers for desktop computers? ?

I have my laptop hooked up to the internet, but I was wondering if I could get a router to go from my laptop to use on my desktop computer, because it's not on the net yet. I've heard that they make them, but I wouldn't know where to start looking. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it. Thanks

  1. A Router would be connected to your Desktop via an Ethernet Cable. You could then use your Laptop wirelessly.

    I recommend a Linksys WRT54G. About $50.

  2. i run my hubby's laptop off a router connected to my desktop. i got everything i needed at radioshack. they were very informative in setting it up too.

  3. Yes.

I'm going to suggest that you find an electronics store, such as a Best Buy and buy a wired router. Wireless requires some setup which might be too confusing.

Here is an example of what you need (and don't forget a couple category 5 cables). You need to have a firewall on your computer and this will also give you that.
