Do they really make money?

so ive always wanted to know if ppl make money for being on shows to win money..

for example i love money..or survivor..or road rules..i mean any show that ppl are competing for money..do they get paid for being on the show?

Yes, they make some money for just being on the show. I've met a couple people that have been eliminated from a reality show competition, and they do get paid enough to cover expenses for being off work a while.

And it seems the runners up get endorsements and prizes too. It seems like the top 4-5 from every season of "Project Runway" get a Saturn and do some commercials.
