Question:

Do they really sterilize anyone at birth?

I hadn't heard of this until an adoptive mother here suggested that adoptees who don't like being adopted should be sterilized at birth.

I am wondering how they will know which ones to sterilize and isn't that illegal.

Should only adoptees who don't like adoption be sterilized or are their other opinions that people hold that should cause them to be sterlized at birth too?

  1. I really think as much as our gonna dislike this it was name calling and nothing more...similar to adoptive parents or hopefull adoptive parents being  referred to as "barren" or   "Infertile" or "baby stealers" Or some equally cruel things I have read here... even some of which have been said to my wife.. You cannot complain when you all do it too. I do my best to advoid the mud-slinging that is from BOTH sides, I have you say if you can't take it don't dish it out..

Sunny~ you just proved my point.

  2. The woman was being sarcastic.  Get a grip!

  3. Oh my god, I can't even believe that was said. What the heck is wrong with people? This always makes me laugh because really, thats a bit crazy to say, and look how "angry" the "unangry" really are. You know these are the same people who call us angry and ungrateful. You know how it goes, shut up and be happy about it, we saved your life, you would have been aborted now you repay us and smile about it.

Like a broken record aren't they..... can't wait to see them skip on the scratch, the clearing of the fog. Ignorance isn't bliss forever, one day you wake up and smell the coffee.

By the way Joy those glasses on your head are HOT! ;)

Some people can't "reproduce" for a reason. Maybe we should be thanking "God" for that.

  4. No but prostitutes should be sterlized along with all the teen girls in the USA so they don't get pregnant.

  5. It is a violation of human rights just asking for a lawsuit

  6. Just to note, Sunny also said in her answer that she is extremely fertile, can I assume that wasn't pointed out because you agree with her point of view?

But Lmao!  Looks like my question pissed off a lot of people who claim they're not angry, and are in fact 'at peace'!

Sorry if some honesty upset you, wish you well!

Edited to Add:  At what point did I mention steralisation?  I was refering to the honesty of a variety of opinions on adoption, and to my question, which is where this comment was first said.  It had nothing to do with steralisation, btw.

Oh, and if you read the answer that mentioned steralisation, read it carefully, you'll see it was a 'rant' against these idiots on here who continually bag everyone who has a different opinion to themselves.  Some of us adoptees are of the opinion that adoption is a great option sometimes.  You guys, the bitter ones, don't like to hear that.

THAT'S the honesty I'm talking about.  Take care!

  7. I don't see how a person at birth can know whether or not they will hate being adopted or not....

But no...they won't sterilize someone at birth. There's no reason to.

And I think that the only people who should be sterilized (with or without their permission) are child molestors...and women who have had more than one abortion due to not taking precautions against getting pregnant.

  8. i agree with the first lady, thats not even right at all. thats like choosing someones life are they crazy. they might grow up wanting a big family they never had.if its not illegal it should be,!!!!!!!

  9. I think someone needs to go back to English class. Sarcasm is when you say something you really don't meean in an off handed way.  Calling someone a n**i and telling them they should have been sterilized at birth is not sarcasm.  It is threatening and abusive language and it doesn't help anyone's cause.

Honestly, can you imagine telling an adopted person or anyone for that matter  that if they don't agree with you, then they should be sterilized? That is just terrifying.

  10. Huh?  No one should sterilize babies at birth!  Maybe I'm misunderstanding but I don't think and adoptee would know if they like being adopted until they are much older.

Even if I have misunderstood, I don't think anyone should be sterilized against their will.

  11. Sterilizing adoptees is an interesting idea coming from an infertile woman.

Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Wonder what Darwin would make of it?

  12. I have to agree with yoohoo, I have seen it on both side and personally would be ashamed if something so cruel and malicious that I said to someone were recorded on YA, but the fact is both sides here have said some absolutely horrible things and therefor I do not think anyone has a right to cry about it now.

  13. Wow. When was this? Do you have a link? I did a search and couldn't find it anywhere. Is this just a way to work up people against adoptive parents?

  14. I think maybe you might have misread the question. I find it hard to believe someone would even say that.  Though there are tons of people who should be sterilized like the guys that have 15 kids between 4 different women and don’t take care of any of the kids.  Woman who use abortions as a means of birth control. I’m talking about woman that get 5+ abortions a year.  I know a young mother who is expecting her 2nd, she wants a lot of kids but she doesn’t want to take care of them. Just pop them out and let Papa take care of them or her family.

  15. I'll answer this with 2 questions. Why do you waste your time on such a stupid, insignificant question? Don't you have anything else to do?

  16. I know, that was just nasty and abusive language in an attempt to chase off people who don't happen to share the same opinion

I was also told I would break my mother's heart.  Well it sure broke her heart when she saw that kind of filth directed toward her daughter, I can tell you!
