  2. Cops are not taught they are trained.

  3. At my dept CIT training is a staple. at the academy.

    Each year there is a minimum of 40 hours refresher.

    It would benefit any police officer to undertake anger management......can you imagine they things they encounter everyday?

    My brother was a police officer for 5 years and it's incredible the toll it takes on some.

    They should all be given medals of honor!

  5. Not specifically, in my experience as a police officer and trainer for over 10 years.  

    The best I have seen is a course called "Verbal Judo" that teaches conflict resolution and ways to prevent confrontations from escalating.

    It is always an underlying topic in most training, but I have not taken or taught a specific "anger management" class, but from some of the officers I've encountered and the dash cam videos I've reviewed, it may not be a bad idea to start it.
