  1. yes they do almost all the germans will know english


  2. in a hotel, yes. but dont expect everyone too. germans like their language.

  3. Do hotel employees in U.S. speak German or any other language besides English for that matter? This is the only country in the world where you are not required to learn one or more foreign languages to be in the hotel industry. FYI: The rest of the world has MUCH higher standards!

  6. Yes. In all of Europe they do. But, you'll have to look at their name tag if it has an AMERICAN or BRITISH flag, then they do, if not then no.

  8. They speak some broken English but expect to carry a translator of some kind or have an acquaintance you can fall back on. Best to know a few popular / commonly used sentences of the local language.
