Do they still sell new 40gb ps3?

They should have them for a while though..cause the new one is havent been released yet..

While the new 80gb CORE ,they're not supposed to "officially" go on sale until the end of this month, it appears that many retailers are stocking their store shelves with the new 80GB Core Packs. These systems, which retail for $399, offer an upgraded version of the previous 40GB system: a larger hard drive and a DualShock 3 controller. It does not, however, provide any backwards compatibility.

If the new 80GB Core Packs are available, that means the two current PS3 SKUs both feature 80GB hard drives. The more expensive ($499) 80GB Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle includes a copy of the popular stealth action game and offers backwards compatibility.

So basically if they released the new 80gb CORE, the 40gb will go bye bye..I recommend you should get the core cause its just a 40gb with twice the memory..Goodluck!

It may still be available, but you may as well wait a little while so you can buy the same model but with an 80GB hard drive at the exact same price.

The 40GB PS3 is going to be replaced shortly with a 80GB PS3 but will remain at the same price.  This may be why you haven't been able to find any at your local Circuit City.

This "new" PS3 is just the 40GB PS3 with an 80GB hard drive and should not be confused with the more expensive 80GB PS3 that comes with a copy of MGS4.  Besides including the game, the "new" 80GB PS3 will also be UNABLE to play PS2 games, whereas the current 80GB PS3 in the MGS4 bundle can play some PS2 games.

Let's all thank Sony for such a messed up, confusing array of products.

they have not had any ps3 40gb systems and any store now for about 3 weeks are more they have the ps3 60gb and the ps3 80gb which comes with the dualshock 3 controller and the mgs4 and a movie for $499.00 :)ava06
