  1. No, MRI is strictly just laying in a machine and having the scan done. Sometimes they inject contrast dye in a vein, depending on what kind you are having done.

  2. No reason at all to get urine samples for an MRI procedure.  In fact most MRI sites are not set up to take any other "samples", they just do the MRI similar to an xray lab only doing xrays.

  3. No. My dad has had mri's a few times and he's on pills for pain. They do make you drink this liquid before though.Also, I think he couldn't eat breakfast so don't if that's how you've been instructed. Good luck!

  4. Not unless they are looking at your bladder, prostate or kidneys. MRI's are generally just laying down completely still in this tunnel while they take pictures kinda like an xray, except more detailed. It depends what part of the body they are looking at in regards to the question, what are they looking for. I don't think you will get in trouble for taking pain meds though, it's a non invasive procedure so you don't need to fast, what harm could it do?

  5. If they take a blood sample or a urine sample, they can tell what you ate or drank the day before.

  6. No they usually dont unless they feel like they need to. Good luck thou;
