Question:

Do they think we're idiots like them?

Okay, who else has heard about these super talented babies?

My cousin claims her 1month old can sit by herself and look around her.

Another lady claims that her 3 month old son can crawl on all fours.

Am I missing something here? As far as I know, no baby can sit on their own at 1 month. At 3 months, some babies are still having a hard time holding their head up, how the heck can one crawl already on all fours?

  1. I know, it does my head in. All mums are proud, it's only natural, and we all know that secretly we think we have the best baby in the world. But I've never crossed the line into fantasy about what my baby can do! A woman answered one of my questions the other day saying her baby was running around the Christmas tree when he was 6 months old. Who am I to say it's not true, I'm no expert, but that is something I certainly wouldn't believe until I saw it with my own eyes! I know what the person up there said about them doing no harm etc., and yeah of course they're better than mums that just don't care, but the way I see it a lie is a lie and liars are idiots.

  2. lol. Mums are a proud bunch, no matter what your kid did, theirs will always have done it better and sooner.

besides, woo, their child learned how to sit or crawl, yours will learn how to bring about world peace and cure cancer when it grows up!! You can never tell how a child will be just from the early months/years.

  3. Umm Wow! I think that your friends are into story telling. I think they may have the my kid can do this what can your kid do syndrome. Poor things. Sad

  4. LOL

Yesterday i read about a 6month old who runs around the house, i mean, come on!!

It's really funny, but they are losers if they feel the need to make things up to make their babies look brighter or advanced.

My son is brilliant just the way he is!

  5. Sadly, it is a parent trying to live through their child. For some inane and insane reason, they think that the baby's accomplishments mean they are good parents!

  6. give me a break!

  7. Some people like to exagerate things.

Some babies can actually do these things.  All babies develope differently.  Some start talking way before others, and some start walking/crawling/moving on their own before others.

I was walking and potty trained by 8 months.  I wouldn't have called myself a super talented baby though.  Advanced yes.

  8. It's Annoying Parent Syndrome. Every parent thinks their kid is better, smarter, and faster than any other kid. As far as they are concerned, the sun shines out of their kid's butt. Strangely, this phenomenon occurs only in first-time parents. They cool it once the second one comes along. Until then, it is our privilege to laugh at them. Enjoy it.

  9. Hey babies do strange things and they grow at different rates. I have a 4 month old cousin who can barely hold his head up and cannot hold his own bottele. The other day I met a 4 month old that can wave hello and bye, holds her own bottle with 1  hand, and can stand up if she's holding on to a coffee table or chair.

  10. OMG! That drives me crazy, I have a freind that is the same way...I like to call her the one upper! lol.

She has given birth to the miracle child.

I have been told to ignore it, but yes it is hard, I don't brag about my son yet, he's 4months, yes he can hold his head up, yes he can imitate sounds that i make...i say love you and he says ooo ooo in the same tone...do i brag about it? NO, he's a baby, it's what they do!!!

    Yes, I'm a first time mom...and I'm realistic!

  11. That does seem outragious but when my son was 2 months old I actually could get him to say I love you. It wasnt perfect but he did say it. Now that he is one I cant get him to say it at all he just laughs at me.

  12. I don't find anything magical about a baby whatsoever.  Some will walk before others, some will crawl before others.  Who cares.  Anyone can have a baby.  In fact, there are 7 Billion people on the planet.  If one of them walked before 12 months and one of them didn't crawl til they were 45, it really doesn't make interesting news.

All this talk about people getting pregnant in the media is disgusting.  Teenie boppers are going to go out and have kids they can't support due to this marketing campaign.

  13. You don't need to believe what they say, but don't insult these people either. Mothers are fiercely protective of their children and often exaggerate the truth a bit because they want everyone to be as impressed with their children as they are. Is it really that big of a deal if they exaggerate? Does if affect you in some profound way? Try to be supportive! Let your cousin know that you think her baby is beautiful and smart and talented!

  14. Who are the idiots? Moms who have kids who can do things? I don't think so. Babies come in all shapes and sizes, and some are so big that they are very well developed. So who really cares if a baby can sit up? Probably just his mom. It's not like he can do much of anything once he's sitting. If people make claims, perhaps they are real. Unless you know personally, you just need to accept that their baby is just something very unusual. Our friend had a baby born with a mouthful of teeth. Do most babies? No. Hers did, and she had to stop breast feeding.

You're right!  At three months SOME babies are still having a hard time holding their head up, but many are not. What does a mom stand to gain by lying? She can't get her baby into the world record books until it's proven anyway. In the end we all end up being able to sit up at one time or another.
