  1. no! sometimes they put them in stir-ups, but that's just like a gyno exam... sometimes they have the nurse or your husband/boyfriend hold your legs steady..

Most the time, they just have you spread your legs, bend them at the knee, and your foot is still flat on the bed. good luck...

  2. they only rest your legs on some kind of poles.and when they tell you to move your legs close to your ears is because they try to avoid the "Dystocia birth injury" and is called the "McRobert's Maneuver"

this youtube video shows what a Dystocia birth injury is and how to avoid it:

  3. Of course not- that's just common sense.

  4. No,they put them up not tie them.

  5. No, they put them far apart on stands provided on the delivery bed in the labout room for easy access to your genitals and for comfortable delivery(but it is very painful).

  6. I have never heard of any hospital doing this. They either put your legs in the stirrups or they will tell you to hold you legs and pull them back to your chest. Tying them would be crazy.

  7. what world do you live in? of course not! why would you ask that

  8. Even with an epi they had me grab my legs(thighs) and pull to me to push

  9. not where i come from. never even heard of something like that

  10. No I put my knees to my chest...

  11. They have never done this to me, and I have had four children.  You have to put your legs up in stir ups, but they do not tie them up.

  12. No, that is only in the movies.  I was told to try to put my knees on my ears.

  13. That didnt happen to me and I dont know any one that has happend too. Ive never even heard of that before.

  14. They strap your arms down if you're having a c-section, but that's it.

I don't think any strap could hold down the legs of a woman in the process of giving birth!!

  15. Oh my, no. They try to put your knees behind your ears, and twist you into a pretzel, though.

  16. No

  17. STIRUPS OR THE NURSE WILL HELP HOLD IF NEEDED

  18. Tie them up where?? No they have you bend them and have one person on each side hold your thigh to keep it up
