and whatever they use, how can u convert american money into french money?

  1. They use euros.

    You can exchange dollars to euros at any exchange bureau. If you're exchanging in France you can either exchange cash or traveler's checks.

    You can also take out money with your American card at French ATMs. However your bank with charge you an international conversion fee as well as a fee for not using your usual bank's ATM. You can also buy things with your American card, though I've found that a lot of stores don't accept MasterCard (and almost none accept American Express), so it would be easier if you had a Visa. Your bank's international fees still apply when you buy from a store

    French francs are no longer used and you cannot pay anything with them in France as they are no longer considered as a currency.

  11. The Euro is the official currency of France. It was introduced in non-physical form (travellers' cheques, electronic transfers, banking, etc.) at midnight on January  1st, 1999.  Hower, it was not until January 1st, 2002 that the coins and notes were inroduced.

    You can go to any bank  or currency exchange office to change your dollars into euros.  Also if you use your ATM card you can withdraw from your account and you will get the amount withdrawn in dollars in the local currency.  Remember that you will always have to pay a fee.
