Question:

Do they use tubes in the mouth for colonoscopies?

2nd attempt at a colonoscopy yesterday and again failed. (Bad prep apparently) anyway, yesterday (and still today) down from my ears along the throat and jaw line (both sides) its rather sore. Have they used tubes for breathing and keeping the airways open (even though when they first explained the procedure, it was never mentioned). Should I be concerned about it?

I understand the soreness of the stomach, but the throat / jaw line ?

I must be typing it wrong, but I cant seem to find anything on the internet to help with my question.

  1. It could be a reaction to the drugs.  You need to call the doctor and ask them what they did.  This is but another reason why I refuse anesthesia.  It could be you didn't go under and were screaming; but, the versed has made you forget.  If you ask they'll try to tell you it's not like the date rape drug.

I added the information for Versed side effects and sore throat and difficulty breathing was another.  My brother lost sense of taste for 5 months.
