I mean really it all started with the whole allegation of power abuse coming out, then the teen daughter pregnant drama, now Palin is linked to the Alaskan independence party.

McCain sure knows how to pick'em

  1. Absolutely not. She has more executive experience than Slick Barry, and she will do a fine job as VP. That baby will have Palin's husband, her daughter, and the baby's father to take care of it. How about the REAL issues? Thanks.

  2. Thats why I wanted Huckabee.

What is McCain thinking?  Now he will have to win in spite of her being on the ticket.  You generally want your VP to add to the ticket not subtract.

  3. No,McCain is brilliant,The Republican base like me is fired up.McCain is getting a lot more money from people now.

    Go Obama/Biden08

  6. What was even worse is that he appeared to be ogling her butt while she was speaking.  I don't care about the daughter situation.  I think her attempted abuse of power was out of line, but bottom line is that when you p**s people off in positions of power, this can be the fallout (I know from experience, wrong yes, but it happens every day).  As far as the Alaskan independence party membership, who cares once again.  I wonder about her level of competence, given her experience.

  8. Silly Asker, your attempts at drawing Palin as a negative are childish and unfounded. She scares the living heck out of you dysfunctional liberals. She was and is a GREAT selection!

    McCain\Palin 08!

    NoBummer 08!

  9. He just handed the election to Barack -  Mit Romney would have been a better choice!

  10. It isn't that bad.. the Obama presidency would be a true disaster....

  11. In a society that has been more obsessed with Britney Spears and the hit TV show “Gossip Girl”, than it is on our domestic and foreign troubles, it doesn’t surprise me in the slightest that the Republican nominee for President would choose his running mate more on her photogenic qualities and her image of being something out of Andy Griffith's Mayberry, and not on her competency and experience. Americans are so thoroughly disconnected from the consequences of who they elect, that they treat elections as popularity contests, and therefore are more enamored by the trivial glamour surrounding the candidate, as opposed to their qualifications. In every other area of life, we determine whether a person is fit for a position based on their skill, and not on how much they reflect a Norman Rockwell painting or how much they project an image of being like Wally and Beaver’s mother.

I can’t blame McCain for choosing the running mate that he did. After all, as cynical as this may sound, McCain is a politician, and like most politicians, their choices are based on what makes them most likely to win an election as opposed to what is best for the nation. I do however blame the American people for allowing the cult of personality to override their rationality. If McCain and Palin’s aspirations for the Whitehouse are fulfilled, Americans will once again bemoan the fact that they elected individuals based on image over substance. However, I am certain that as long as our citizens are allowed to live in the comfortable world of consumerism, and are completely insulated from the hardships that ravage the rest of the world, they will continue to repeat this mistake over and over again. I am as certain of this as I am certain of the law of gravity. If anything can be learned from this scenario, it is that Hegel was one of the keenest social commentators, for it is he who said: “The only thing we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history.” Certainly, for America, this is so true.

  12. Palin has 2 years of executive experience to Obama's ZERO.

    ZERO

    ZERO

    ZERO.

    McCain/Palin 08

  13. I am a man,and I would love to see,at least, one woman in our government. Unlike, some of the Obama's chauvinists.

  14. She is the junior, a president in training.  Obama is actually trying to be president without any experience and no capable staff to support him.

  15. No, I don't think it was a bad discion for him to pick her.

McCain and his advisors new before picking her that the daughter was pregnant.

"Palin told McCain's team about the pregnancy during lengthy discussions about her background, and the senator knew about it when he made her his surprise pick Friday, aides said. At several points during the discussions, McCain's team warned Palin that the scrutiny into her private life would be intense and that there was nothing she could do to prepare for it."

  16. I think he was trying to take his campaign from stale and boring to new and exciting.  He overshot.  It's now a circus.

To the post above:  I have executive experience.  I was president of the Business Spanish Club at Michigan State back in '04.  Does that experience compare to Obama's?  No.

Does Palin's?  Still no.  She governed a state whose population is one-fourteenth the size of Chicago's.

  17. I completely disagree. Sarah Palin is a great choice. She is exactly what we need. The abuse of power thing is frivolous (did you know Obama is now involved in a federal lawsuit in PA? Who's talking about THAT?), I don't believe it's been proven that she was a member of the AIP, and the attacks on her daughter are downright DISGUSTING.

  18. Well, there's stuff coming out about Biden and Rezko now, And also his lobbying ties.  So much for Obama's call for change, right.  Sheesh,
