I had a tumor removed in June 07. When they took out the tumor they had to remove some of ACL and loosened it alot. I'm having my ACL replaced in 4 weeks. My leg has extreme atrophy b/c of the disuse of it due to RSD (pain condition). The leg i'm having surgery on is litteraly 1/2 of the size of my other one. They told me I would only have to be out of work for 2 weeks post-op. Is this normal for people in good shape or are they stretching it out b/c my leg is in bad shape??

How long were you out for an ACL total replacement? (I'm getting an allograft).

  1. Two weeks will allow your body to recover correctly.  The hard part will be after the surgery.  You will have to work hard at building up the muscles in the weaker leg.  When I got the same thing done I took 4 weeks off of work just to make sure that the healing was complete.
