Do this years Olympics feel like a joke to you?

With all the controversy around this years Olympics, I feel as if the Olympics have become one step above American Gladiators. Corrupt judges, Milli Vanilli style lip syncing, athletes throwing medals around, age cheating, I won't even get into the whole China politics thing. I refuse to have any channel on that is airing the games this year. Am I alone on this one?

Totally agree! I'm over watching the Olympics really.. I mean there is so many controversies this year, I hate watching it now! The best pat of the whole thing was swimming. No judges, just whoever gets back first wins! No controversies and Phelps made it a great sport to watch!

To the first answerer, judging and what other athletes do have nothing to do with China itself.

  

The lip syncing part has NOTHING to do with the Olympics itself, the opening ceremony is a PERFORMANCE. How many people can you name have lip synced in the Superbowl Halftime show? And in just about EVERY Olympics there's a judging controversy. Remember Athens and Paul Hamm? Remember Last Winter Olympics and the Pairs Figure Skating? Get over it!

I think the Chinese has done a lot to show the world that they are the emerging super power. If you take a look at past Olympic medal tally.

China was 3rd in 2000, 2nd in 2004 and now 2008 hes the winner.

This is proving that this country is mean to be the world number 1 in sports, military, space and technology. I can tell you nothing can stop china from being number 1 in this world.

American year is gone, the world economy has slowed down and once it return to normal. You will realize that China is now the Most powerful nation in the world.

You will soon see products made in China as a high tech & quality goods as they shifted QC & QA their products.

I think everyone have to learn to accept China as the world Next Super Power and stop bashing china with media attacks because that's the only weapon against china and you don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that out.

I am Australian by the way. Love China history and Chinese martial Arts they are simply the best in the world.

I agree. Olympics use to be fun to watch and so much cheering for your team and stuff, now its totally bogus. I'm sure most countries are cheating. China on age (which is true), apparently rumors of Americans on steroids (with Americans now a days, that could possibly be true) and yeah. Its all rigged. I bet China just so happens to beat so many more countries with false scores.
