Do those Limited Too and Justice Text Messengers only work in the close distance?

I was thinking of getting one for me and my friend.

It's just that I want to know if they would work miles away.

If you know, or have one can you tell me how well it works?

They work only if you are within a mile (MAYBE two) of eachother.  It's fun to do it when you are in different rooms or even at the dinner table/lunch table for funsies!

However, you could call the company (the number might be on the back of the box)

Or maybe it even says the distance on the box!

But they are not like cell phones!
