  1. Charity ? There was a time when the word meant something special but now that it can be a tax deductible it has lost it's original purpose for assisting, now it is used by most as a manipulation tool and that is disgusting..

  2. Most of the time, yes.

  3. Some of them, yes, but most of them NO!

  4. Give a man a fish he eats for a night. Teach a man to fish, he eats for life. Charity is best given in the form of knowledge, not things.

  5. No one truly deserves anything...that is the beauty of it.

I saw a friend of mine pay a ladies way at the gym today.  She could not afford it anymore, but my friend paid her dues and was specific that said woman should not be told who did it.  It was a small action, but I saw that woman cry.  This is something that is truly holding her together...

  6. Yes and no. There are those who, due to unfortunate circumstances, are swept off their feet.  They eventually recover, get back on their feet, and are able to help someone else who is down.  Like if your home burns down, certainly you would want to take the generous offers of the Red Cross, and the community til you got back on your feet. And be the first to help the next person, since you know what it is like. But there are others who know how to play the system, and just take, take, take, and never give.  They feel they deserve it.  There are ones who never make any effort to better themselves and it is a way of life to accept charity from others.  It should be a circle, there are times you give, and there are times you take, and around again.

  7. i dont know but i do know alot of people that deserve charity do never get it . sad

  8. everyone needs a helping hand sometimes. it is the people who abuse this help that makes us wonder if helping people is a good thing. but we shouldn't punish lots of people just because a few are crooks. yes most people who receive it deserve it. if you needed help do you think you would deserve it? of course you would. human life always has value.

  9. what does jealousy deserve?

  10. yes, I think so, at least most of them.

  11. Maybe not to some, but obviously the person offering the charity feels that the individual or group receiving the said charitable benefits is deserving.

Charity is subjective, not objective, like so many things in life.

  12. Yes

Charity is the giving up of something, a gift, freely given without strings attached. If you ask for a receipt, it's no longer charity, but a contribution.

Even people who try to fool you deserve charity in their lives.

People are People, and we all have souls.

  13. We all do at one point in our lives. Charity isn't just financial or material, it goes beyond that most of the time; and there are too many times when we all need a little bit of charity to help us along.

For the most part the downtrodden, and the poor do need our charity. I've heard of, and seen other poor people who actually put some funds aside for those less fortunate than themselves. They have d**n near nothing but still; they set aside something for someone who needs it. That is enough to make your heart swell with passion for our race.

  14. Sadly, generally not.
