Do toddlers' voices change?

My 23-month-old's voice seems to be changing from a baby voice to more of a little boy voice... it's almost the same as a boy going through puberty with the crackling and raspy sounds lol... Is this possible or could this be something else? He doesn't seem to be getting a cold or anything.

my daughter did the same thing. she is 3, it sounded like she was going horse. and now her voice doesnt sound the same at all. i still dont know if her voice really did change over night or if she was screaming the day before at daycare and she really did go horse.
