Do tomatoes and strawberries have a certain number of seeds/pips?

Does Nature have a preordained odd or equal figure for things such as this? A staff room discussion brought this up, as well as whether people think of inanimate objects (such as fruit) as 'being' odd or even!!!

  1. It probably depends upon how the flower was pollinated.  But the potential number of seeds is genetic.
