  1. I think that they MAY do, - IF the Myanmar and Chinese GOVERNMENTS, would ALLOW the foreign aid workers IN, - so, that, at least, they have the CHANCE to!

    To the EARLIER contributor:

Politics, - as you say, - SHOULD cut through all the "POLITICS", - but, the political "MASTERS" of Beijing, and Yangon, will NOT allow ANYTHING to interfere in the "PROGRESS" of COMMUNISM!

    What ABSOLUTE RUBBISH!

These two so-called Governments should realise, that THEIR respective PEOPLES are DYING, for want of INTERNATIONAL HELP, - but, they REFUSE to OPEN THEIR EYES, - OR their HEARTS!

  2. Because human tragedy transcends politics

  3. Yes

  4. No because the world isn't tied into them the way the people in that country/region are

  5. Not really.  Tragedies of the scale of natural disaster tend to bring people together of the afflicted area/nation.  If you think back to the tsunami that nearly destroyed Indonesia, they were not asking for any benefits from outside nations.  In this case it would be more political.

Tragedies that would unite a world wide would itself need to be world wide.  Such examples would be diseases, global warming, a threatening nation, etc.

  6. Again Joe - Another Good Question.

    For me and my opinion:

No... Not so much everybody... With our population of so many diverse people, religions beliefs and etc. I really don't think that there would be more than 50% of this country's population that truly cares. This is not very becoming of this nation and its people.

For most - the common statement : "Charity starts at home"... We - In this country have so many that are starving, homeless... families going bankrupt and loosing everything... Our children - that are to be this country's next leaders that have problems with drugs, lack of moral judgment for themselves and others - I could go on & on.....

It's also true to a statement made by another - Governments and there political beliefs....

Back years ago.. What was ever done about all the young teenagers / college students that were killed over in China because they were having a peaceful demonstration? [see link]

    Again - Nothing...

And I further know there have been other tragedies such as natural disasters and those that have been created by governments and people in different area of this globe. And probably some that will never get the attention of the media for several different reasons.

Well. I'm going to close here.. My mind is in overtime.

Good one Joe. Something I hope all will some day get more involved and stand up and make a difference.
