  1. No, they run on rails.

(Sorry.  Dangling a pun like that in front of me is like dangling a fix in front of a junkie. I couldn't resist).

  2. Yes they do, the railways run every day.

  3. Yes but you will have to get a bus from preston due to track work. Don't worry, the bus comes under the cost of the train ticket and will leave right outside preston station.

  4. Amtrak usually runs trains such as the New York-New Orleans "Crescent" all week. Some trains don't run every day, but most do.

  5. Yes, Northern Rail should be running trains, or maybe Transpennine Express from Bolton. try www.northernrail.org for more information about times and fares and stuff like that. The Northern website is one of my favourite TOC websites for user friendliness :)

  6. Yes, there are plenty of trains from Bolton to Blackpool on Sunday 17 February (which is when I assume from your question 'the wristband thing' is on) You change at Preston for Blackpool North (no buses). Please don't look at the Amtrack site as one American suggests. Why don't they read the questions and stop assuming everywhere is in the USA?

Later - there are many literally minded people about, aren't there.?

  7. they run 7 days a week.

  8. runs on rails you can't
