  1. Yes plants and trees also die like animals, when the metabolic activity ceases to function in them. It is interesting to note that plants appear to be still and motionless but in fact they have life like animals,as seed grows to sapling and further grow to tree. Onset of growth can be seen in growing buds, leaves, flowers and fruits, which is a symptom of life in them.

  2. yes

  3. Plants are organic containing carbon. They're made up of cells just like animals do but their cells structures vary a bit. Some plants have longer life cycles than other plants depending on the species. Those that live in the desert have adapted through evolution and thus their life cycles are quick and short. Their seeds are able to hibernate and bloom very quickly during flash floods. They also die very quickly after they germinate. Plants are controlled by a variety of hormones. certain hormones help plants grow vertically, develop fruits and ect. For a lot of plants if given an optimal condition will live very long. But environmental stress and herbivores feeding on it will likely cause their death. When dying plants will turn a brown color. The chlorophyll inside the plant gives it a green color because it absorbs only green. When a plant is in stress it can choose to loose a couple of leaves and redirect the chlorophyll somewhere else i think. But plants do die because their cells do deteriorate and die. My bio teacher explained to us once how and why plants turn brown but i forget =/ sorry.
