  1. Trees slow the wind down, so if you are reading the same wind speed *at ground level*, the wind speed at some height above the tree tops (say 50meters) is likely to be higher in the area with trees than the area without trees, even though the ground-level wind speed was the same between the two locations.

  2. No Trees will actally cut down on wind.

  3. Trees do not produce wind;they only obstruct the wind.

But indirectly,it may help to produce more wind. You might have studied that deforestation affects the rainfall in the long run and that the annual rainfall amount decreases over the nearby places. If trees cover a large area(like a forest),the water vapour released through transpiration by the trees reaches the atmosphere. As moist air is lighter,it ascends ,cools ,condenses and forms clouds which ultimately produces rain.

In this process as the light moist air rises, air from the surroundings moves in replacing the warm air which creates more wind.
