  1. yeah,coz a lot of ocean does

  2. yes'

    why???

because hurricanes "like" warm water. tropical water= warm water. a hurricane is most likely to be in warm water because it can start easily. Just think it like this:

    warm water= a hurricane's power

    cold water= a hurricane's weakness

thats why there is almost never a hurricane in the artic region or any other cold place.

  3. Yes, tropical storms, which become hurricanes, hurricanes occur more easily in warm water, and grow stronger in warm water.  This is the reason that you never see a hurricane doing a lot of damage to New York, or the other sections of the northeast.  There isn't a tropical ocean, but in the tropical parts of the Atlantic ocean they are most common.

  4. Yes,  of course but depends mostly if you are in the area most favorable for development..

  5. Just becauce an ocean is tropical does not mean it will get hurricanes. Look at the South Atlantic Ocean. It has only had one hurricane in 2004, and two tropical storms since we have begun to take records. The North Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, South and North pacific get hurricanes. You need a lot more than warm water to get hurricanes. You need no wind shear as that will strip of the high storm clouds from the center of circulation, and a system of high pressure aloft over the low level cyclonic circulation will aide in this. Hurricanes require a lot of things to go just "right" to develop. Many are surprised to know that in a storm that can pack winds off up to 155+mph can be weakend by wind shear aloft as weak as 20 mph! so in short, the answer is no!

  6. i would think so

  7. It depends on whether lots of hurricanes form.  There is no set number of hurricanes.  We could have 1 or 30 it all depends on what the seas brew up.

  8. any ocean is capable of having a hurricane

  9. mosty in trotical and everywhere

  10. Not really. I live by one and its not like there is one every week. There are months out of the year when hurricanes form. Its called "Hurricane Season" and there can be no hurricanes or a lot. Dont worry to much about it if you are considering moving near one. Just know what to do in case it happens :)

    Good Luck!

  11. I don't think there such a thing as tropical oceans.

Hurricanes can very easily affect the northeast part of our country as well.  Just look up "The Long Island Express" and also "Hurricanes Carol and Edna, (Same Year)".
